Artist Statement:
The purpose of the artist is that of a visionary, seeker or healer; capturing and portraying images and feelings of all humanity that go unseen or ignored. This series represents a visual rebirth at attempting to re-identify with a spiritual connection to past mythologies of ancient cultures.
There is a personal connection all people have to forces outside themselves, weather they go unnoticed or in this modern consumer based culture mostly ignored they are there, penetrating us and binding us together to all other things on this planet. These paintings are the visual description of that journey, battling with nature vs. modern man.
The paintings came about by the breaking down of very recognizable shapes, symbols and archetypal forms. Allowing the forms to float freely on the surface, either interacting with the figure or blocking it to cause static or tension. The purpose being to evoke a dreamlike setting.
